Restored Comment The onboard flow is bar none the best in the Fediverse. UI is great too. I think the UX, especially the tab choices and arrangement, are sub par. In particular, I would rethink some of the tab drill down. Subscriptions on the left when the default state is to not be logged in, is weird. I think I would hide that entirely until a user is logged in, or find a better way to default to or drill into your subscriptions after logging in. by rezz

If it had been, you would have paid $499 and *that price would have been subsidized by Cingular (or whatever carrier you had)*. That’s why the phone was exclusive to a single carrier in each country. You could not ever take that phone and buy it outright without a service contract and without it being locked to that carrier for life. They couldn’t even unlock it after the fact (if your contract was over). That’s why George Hotz was able to sell a hardware unlocked and jailbroken iPhone to some cell carrier CEO for a car.
